Permit Officer

Carrington West are currently working with a client in Buckinghamshire with their search for a Permit Officer on a contract basis.

The role involves working as part of the Road Space Management Team that manages and coordinates all activities to maintain free flow of traffic, minimise congestion and avoid conflicts on the highway.  Your primary role will be to assist the Senior Permit Officer to ensure that the Permit Scheme operates effectively.

What you will be doing:
 
·Manage and monitor the processes enabling the team to implement the Buckinghamshire Permit Scheme.
·Manage and monitor the processes all notices in accordance with COP  for co-ordination of Streetworks
·Respond to routine enquiries from utilities, contractors and the general public in connection with the Permit Scheme and other NRSWA and TMA issues. Liaise with Team Members and Works promoters to resolve any invoice / charge enquiries and disputes.
·Maintain the Street Works Register and participate in all routine office activities under the direction of the Road Space Management Team Leader as required.
·Assist with the input of text and data for a variety of purposes and to maintain specific record systems and carry out associated tasks as required
·To contribute with positive and proactive communications to Members, staff, interested parties and the wider public for all matters associated with NRSWA
·To be responsible for the necessary liaison with Streetworks Technicians to any Permits conditions prior to granting or refusing the Permits.
·To participate in all routine office activities under the direction of the Senior Permit officer or Network Congestion Manager as required.
·To support with TTRO's Filming and Events on highway
·The post holder will ensure all processes and systems are applied consistently across the County and assist with general and other administrative work proposed.
·To be aware of and implement quality and performance standards.
·Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of the post, which may, from time to time, be delegated by the post holder's line manager

Previous experience in Street works is essential for this role.
