Exciting Opportunity for a Network Management Technician in Leicester
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Network Management Technician to join a key transport team in Leicester. This is a vital role supporting the delivery of highway network management functions, focusing on reducing congestion and ensuring safe, reliable journeys. The successful candidate will contribute to the coordination and delivery of highway activities, working closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including works promoters, elected members, and local businesses.
This position offers flexibility with potential for hybrid working arrangements. It's a great opportunity to play a key part in managing and maintaining Leicester's highway network.
The main duties of the Network Management Technician include:
·Supporting the coordination and delivery of network management duties, including managing works notifications and permit applications.
·Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations such as the TMA, NRSWA, and the Highways Act.
·Supporting the monitoring of street works and temporary activities on the highway, ensuring appropriate traffic management is in place.
·Liaising with customers, clients, and stakeholders to manage enquiries and disputes.
·Managing the collection of fees and charges associated with network management.
·Collating and disseminating network performance data to support the effective operation of the service.
·Assisting with the governance and processes for handling improvement notices and prosecutions related to non-compliance.
The Network Management Technician will have key experience in:
·Working in an engineering setting related to highways infrastructure.
·Experience in delivering network management services, including liaising with customers and stakeholders.
·Knowledge of current highways legislation and CDM regulations.
·Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant industry software.
·Experience in capturing, storing, and retrieving information to meet customer and organisational needs.
