Are you a Building Surveyor experienced in the management and delivery of repairs/maintenance of social housing properties?
If so, this 3-month rolling Local Authority Contact could give you just that.
Who will you be joining?
An established diagnostic and repairs team are in need of a surveyor reporting into the Repairs Manager to assist them in ensuring their residential stock meets the statutory requirements of a safe home for their residents. This role will include the initial survey and defect diagnosis, writing specifications and managing the works.
What will you do?
If you are successful in securing this post you will be responsible for ensuring the following:
·Carry out property surveys,
·diagnose faults, obtain or create specifications for work required,
·produce drawings and obtain competitive prices.
·Order works by use of appropriate systems and Tender/contract procedures.
·Supervise works to completion, in line with Council Health & Safety Standards and other statutory requirements
·Carry out post inspections, confirm satisfactory completion, authorise payments, investigate invoice queries
·Cross-Service/Partnership working liaison skills and experience
·Managing external resources through PFI contract partnering to ensure best value for the client
·Respond to complaints, compliments and requests for information and consider service review and development in the light of these
What do you need?
To be successful in your application for this role you will need to demonstrate the following on application and through the interview process:
An appropriate surveying or engineering qualification or equivalent experience
·Ability to work with minimum supervision
·Ability to prioritise workloads, analyse and resolve problems
·Ability to work alone to meet strict deadlines
