Role: IT Systems Engineer
Location: Huthwaite
Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 + 5k Car allowance
 
My Client is looking for an IT Systems Engineer to join their Networks and Infrastructure Team based in their office near Mansfield. This role will be primarily office based but some home or remote working is available. The team provides a support to employees across the UK and pride ourselves on delivering a first-rate service and deal with all aspects of Networks & Infrastructure.  They have said that they will shortly be starting an exciting project to replace their current FlexPod in house datacenters to a new HCI solution, the successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of this project from design through to implementation.
 
Responsibilities include:
·Provide 3rd line support to agreed SLA's.
·Document business processes and produce how-to documentation/videos
·Design, implementation, delivery and maintenance of infrastructure strategy and model to improve systems availability, performance, incident frequency and reduce cost.
·Maintain high availability of services through pro-active support.
·Provide and maintain an up to date inventory and configuration for all operational infrastructures, hardware, software, and software licenses including warranty information.
·Responsible for all Server solutions - both Virtual & Physical
·Creation and ownership of new server & File-share solutions (Virtual & Physical)
·Responsible for Veeam Enterprise & other Backup solutions
·Responsible for VMWare Virtualised solutions
·Responsible for Cisco UCS & NetApp Solutions
·Data Recovery & archiving to meet business SLAs
·Use of Manage Engine OpManager Network Management tool
·Ownership of UPS Solutions - Maintenance & reporting
·Problem and Change management
·Assist with populating the online ICT Knowledge base
·Assist with the Disaster Recovery testing and scheduling
·On-Site Engineering - Installing & maintaining solutions around the business, some out of hours work will be required.
 
Skills and Experience:
·Experience/understanding of windows active directory environments including DNS, DHCP, IIS, GPO, NTFS permissions
·In depth knowledge of Veeam Enterprise Backup Solutions
·In depth knowledge of VMWare
·In depth knowledge of Microsoft Server 2012 and 2016
·Good knowledge of Cisco UCS & NetApp FAS solutions
·Experience of Google Workspace (not essential but is advantageous)
·Great communication skills both verbal and written
·Experience of ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus and Desktop Central (not essential but is advantageous)
·Knowledge of VxRail, Nutanix and/or Cohesity could be beneficial for an upcoming project
