We are recruiting for a skilled and motivated Housing Lawyer / Solicitor to join the Legal Services team of our client. This is a hybrid role with a strong focus on managing complex housing litigation and providing strategic legal advice to support housing teams across the organisation.

The Role
·Manage a live caseload of 50+ housing litigation matters including:
        oPossession proceedings
        oASB injunctions
        oDisrepair claims
        oSuccession disputes
        oTenancy enforcement and related advice
·Represent the client in county court hearings, preparing witness statements, legal bundles, and liaising with counsel where required.
·Draft legal documents and provide written and verbal advice to housing officers and senior stakeholders.
·Work collaboratively with colleagues across Legal Services and Housing to ensure legal support is proactive, practical, and timely.
·Contribute to team resilience by picking up new instructions quickly and supporting colleagues during high-demand periods.

Key Requirements
·Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive (ICLEX) with current practising certificate.
·Demonstrable experience in housing litigation, including possession, ASB, disrepair, and tenancy enforcement.
·Able to manage a high-volume, fast-paced caseload independently with minimal supervision.
·Excellent drafting and advocacy skills with a clear, concise, and practical communication style.
·Confident working with internal clients, balancing risk, reputation, and service delivery outcomes.
·A proactive, solution-focused approach to legal problem solving, with a collaborative and professional mindset.
