Housing Adaptations Surveyor - Remote working 
Are you a qualified Surveyor within housing and experienced in the delivery of disability facilities grants looking for a long-term contract in turbulent times? 
If so, this 12-month Local Authority Contact could give you just that. 
 
Who will you be joining?  
East Midlands based Local Authority that provide support to properties across the Borough providing a better standard of living for vulnerable households. You will be joining their in-house team working remotely to support them with ongoing adaptations works and assessing conditions for full compliance of housing regulations.  
What will you do? 
Within this role you will have a versatile list of responsibilities which includes the following:  
·To investigate the housing conditions of the district and promote improvement from the full range of housing options available. 
·To deliver Decent Homes to vulnerable households in the Borough in accordance with the Authority's Housing Renewal Policy. 
·To act as project co-ordinator for all disabled adaptations carried out for private sector housing clients qualifying for a Disabled Facilities Grant from the Council. 
·To prepare technical schedules of work, specifications and drawings. 
·To liaise with all external parties involved in disability grants. 
·To obtain quotations from approved contractors, complete evaluations and make recommendations accordingly. 
·To co-ordinate and submit applications for planning permission and building regulations approval where appropriate.  
·To inspect Houses in Multiple Occupation and take action to ensure compliance with legal and best practice requirements in relation to housing standards. 
 
What do you need?  
To be successful in your application for this role you will need to demonstrate the following on application and through the interview process:  
 
·Qualified to degree level in Surveying  
·Affiliation with relevant industry bodies 
·Previous experience of disability grants and local authorities 
·Be located within a commutable distance for 2-3 visits to the borough per month

Should you be successful in securing this exciting opportunity, you will benefit from a 12-month contract to cover maternity leave with the possibility of further extension beyond 2022. Rates will be dependent on experience and can be discussed on application. 37 hour working week
