Section Engineer - Civil Engineering
Up to £48,000 per annum (salary dependent on experience)
Are you an experienced Section Engineer looking to take the next step in your civil engineering career on major infrastructure projects? My client is seeking a skilled Section Engineer to join their Civil Engineering division and support the delivery of complex infrastructure schemes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Section Engineer to work with a highly respected Tier One contractor delivering large-scale civil engineering and highways projects across the UK. As Section Engineer, you will play a vital role in managing sections of work on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

My client is a well-established Tier One contractor with a history spanning over two centuries, delivering major infrastructure, civil engineering and construction projects across the UK.
Working within their Civil Engineering division, you will support the delivery of complex infrastructure schemes while working alongside experienced engineers, site management teams and technical specialists. This role offers excellent exposure to challenging projects and strong opportunities for long-term career progression.
What you will be doing
As Section Engineer, you will oversee specific sections of work on site and support the wider project team to ensure successful delivery.
You will be doing the following:
·Managing and coordinating sections of civil engineering works on site
·Supporting the planning and delivery of project activities
·Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with design specifications and project requirements
·Supervising Site Engineers and site teams where required
·Coordinating subcontractors and managing daily site operations within your section
·Ensuring high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
·Carrying out quality checks and inspections to maintain project standards
·Monitoring progress and supporting the project team to maintain programme targets
·Maintaining accurate site documentation and records
·Liaising with project managers, designers and other key stakeholders
Skills and experience you will need
To succeed as Section Engineer, you will bring strong technical knowledge and experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
You will ideally have:
·A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
·Experience working as a Section Engineer, Senior Site Engineer or experienced Site Engineer within civil engineering projects
·Strong understanding of construction methods and engineering principles
·Experience supervising site teams or managing sections of work
·Knowledge of project planning, resource coordination and site operations
·Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
·Excellent communication and leadership abilities
·A full UK driving licence
