Job description
Divisional Director required for a national Engineering firm to oversee their highly successful and growing London area of the business.
Our clients have seen continual growth year on year within the business with further projected growth in terms of turnover and employee count.
As the successful Director you will be tasked with overseeing all commercial and construction across projects in the region. Including financial monitoring operational and environmental performance.
You will also be working closely with an array of clients and public sector bodies, with works covering highways maintenance, defect repairs, emergency response, new works and air quality improvement schemes.

The skills that are non-negotiable are interpersonal client communication and civil engineering experience. It is preferred to have experience in the Highways sector and at a stretch Highways Maintenance (not necessary).
Hybrid working will be offered but travel to the London area will be required 3 to 4 times a week.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Lead & direct the business & employees working with the Regional Director
- Ensure, through overview & appropriate interventions, an effective, efficient & profitable service delivery which exceeds agreed standards.
- Create an innovative management team who will invoke a culture change to embrace 'best in class' products, services, methods & processes, supported by the company.
- Secure a fully embedded Performance Management Culture, ensuring that the organisation has the required shared understanding, systems, processes &expertise in place to drive continuous improvement of services provided to the Client &the Customer.
- Effectively communicate with the Company's stakeholders.
- Effectively manage relations with the client, elected members &the customer.
- Ensure appropriate reporting both internally to the Company &contractually to the Client.
- Be an ambassador & advocate for the Company in all external relationships ensuring its vision & values are effectively communicated, & its interests promoted.
- To behave at all times in a way that supports the stated Purpose, Vision & Values of the Company, & to ensure all team members do likewise
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Degree/equivalent and working towards Chartered Engineer status or qualified by experience
- Experience of operational management within highways sector
- Good financial understanding
- Microsoft skills and ability to use products
- Solid interpersonal skills
- Experience of managing others including supply chain
- Successfully built and sustained positive client relationships in the past
