Carrington West is  working in partnership with a local authority in the West Midlands to recruit an experienced Highway Inspector. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and professional highways team responsible for maintaining and improving a diverse road network. The role offers long-term, consistent work for a Highway Inspector who is confident working independently, carrying out inspections, and ensuring the safety and compliance of highway assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out routine and reactive highway inspections in line with national and local standards
• Identifying defects and raising works orders within agreed timescales
• Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and statutory requirements
• Producing clear and accurate inspection reports
• Liaising with contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams as required

Essential Requirements:

• LANTRA Highway Inspection Certificate (mandatory)
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
• Strong knowledge of highway legislation, codes of practice, and safety standards
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

Desirable:

• Previous experience working within a local authority
• Familiarity with highway asset management or inspection systems such as Confirm
