Job description

Highway Claims Administrator
 
 Key accountabilities
·Work closely with safety/reactive inspectors and service providers to obtain information to support case resolution of claims (red) in a timely manner.
·Ensure reports and information for claims is accurate and provided in a timely manner ensuring that evidence from all relevant sources is provided to the insurers/legal team.
·Assist with the compilation of performance reports for the claims service.
·Respond to all public/customer enquiries relating to the functions of the unit, receive telephone calls and action appropriately, receive, investigate, and action emails.
·Compose and send emails to members of the public and others, organise inbound and outbound paperwork, filing paperwork and digital records in an orderly manner.
·Input and maintain information on spreadsheets, databases and other systems and run reports from a range of internal systems.
·Administration of financial charges, orders, invoices and receipt of payments and support to the collation of reports, retrieval of overdue monies and monitoring of budgets associated with the activities of the service.
 
Criteria
·Effective experience of working in a customer service and administrative environment.
·Working knowledge of Microsoft O365 to include Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
·Understanding of the responsibilities of a highway authority.
·Experience of administering highway claims (red) against the authority and, recovery of costs for claims (green) due to damage to highway assets by third parties generally as a result of third-party road traffic incidents.
·Familiarity with online finance portals and / or payment systems.
·Working knowledge of financial processing, including invoicing.
·Attention to detail and effective personal organisation skills.
·Effective written and verbal communication skills.
·Numerical skills.
·Analytical with the ability to interrogate data and make recommendations.
·Ability to manage and prioritise workload.
·Effective interpersonal skill.
