Job description

Due to unprecedented growth throughout 2020, our clients, a multi-disciplinary award winning consultancy are looking to add a Health & Safety / CDM Advisor to the business. This is a new role within the organisation after business had a hugely successful year in 2020 winning their largest design scheme and implementing a major projects team.
 
You will be joining the established engineering team, providing H&S / CDM expertise throughout the design and project process.
 
It is vital that you hold experience within a Highways Engineering organisation, providing a high level of H&S / CDM knowledge within the Highways and Transportation Engineering sectors.
 
We require someone who holds the ability/experience to deliver in the capacity of Principal Designer under the CDM Regulations
 
 
Key requirements for the role are :
 
·Able to create robust management systems to comply with legislation
·Translate management system into actions required across the company
·Ensure all employees receive suitable health & safety training, maintain and develop all safe systems of work and create and update annual training plan
·Combined ISO9001, 18001 & 14001 audits, being part of the team achieving these standards for the company
·Ensure all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated
·Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policy
·Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all HSE legislation and any developments that affect the company
·Ensure the implications of changes in legislation and safety management techniques are communicated and implemented throughout the Company and Supply Chain.
·Participate in weekly/monthly meetings when required to report on relevant health & safety matters
·Maintain and implement relevant quality control procedures
·Continually develop knowledge of health and safety to enhance the business and fulfil company requirements

·Excellent communication skills
·Principal designer competency and qualification
·Ability to challenge and work as part an integrated design team
·Client facing
·Proven track record of delivering quality projects to programme and budget
