Are you an experienced Sustainability consultant with excellent leadership skills?
 
Keen to run your own department with a rapidly growing MEP consultancy?
 
My client is looking for their new Head of Sustainability to operate out of their London office where you will have the opportunity to grow your own team of sustainability consultants and BREEAM Assessors, from day one!

You will work on projects across a variety of sectors including Residential, Education, Rail, Data Centres and more.


The role of Head of Energy and Sustainability shall have the following responsibilities:

TECHNICAL

  • Develop, promote and implement the Energy & Sustainability strategy for the Company.
  • Lead on the development of Net Zero Carbon Roadmaps and carbon reduction initiatives.
  • Full understanding of Building Regulations Part L.
  • Understand the requirements of The London Plan and other local authority requirements regarding energy.
  • Understand passive design techniques - orientation/glazing ratios/U-values.
  • Understand thermal modelling and work with sub-consultants with regards to getting the modelling completed.
  • Understand BREEAM and able to undertake pre-assessments.
  • Experience in writing Energy Statements and Renewable Energy Assessments.
  • Experience in writing Sustainability Statements based on BREEAM preassessments.
  • Knowledge of service solutions to meet regulatory requirements and low carbon aspirations.
  • Be able to guide clients on the implementation of district heating schemes.
  • Experience in presenting to clients and design teams.
  • Deliver CPDs on Energy & Sustainability topics to 'educate' on suitable subjects (internal and external)


COMMERCIAL

  • Understand how sustainable outcomes can be achieved on different project types.
  • Able to identify and manage risks to the Company's financial status on projects.


MANAGEMENT

  • Effective management of a number of concurrent projects, to meet both Company and Client objectives.
  • Ability to manage the expectation of others, displaying integrity in so doing, both within and external to the Company.


BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Develop relationships with new Clients to bring in new business to the Company.
  • Develop relationships with existing Clients and other professionals which will engender new enquiries and secure future business for the Company.
  • Support new business development by assisting with tender bid support and advise how the Company can differentiate our offer to win new projects.
  • Produce presentation material and make presentations to external parties and potential Clients.
  • Take part in networking business and industry activities on behalf of the Company.
