Job Title: Graduate Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Assistant
(This role requires no prior experience and will even look at graduates with degrees outside of Civil Engineering)

Job Summary:
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in our project delivery process. You will be responsible for assisting in the cost estimation, budget management, and procurement activities for a variety of civil engineering projects. Your keen eye for detail, analytical skills, and passion for construction will contribute to the successful execution of our projects while providing you with valuable hands-on experience and growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation: Assist in preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for civil engineering projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and other associated expenses.
Budget Management: Collaborate with the senior quantity surveyors to monitor project budgets, analyze variations, and propose cost-effective solutions to maintain financial control.
Procurement: Participate in procurement activities, including obtaining quotations, issuing purchase orders, and coordinating deliveries to ensure timely availability of materials and services.
Quantity Take-offs: Conduct detailed quantity take-offs from engineering drawings and specifications to support accurate costing and resource planning.
Tender Documentation: Assist in the preparation of tender documentation, bills of quantities, and pricing schedules to support the tendering process.
Contract Administration: Support senior quantity surveyors in contract administration duties, including contract document preparation, progress assessments, and payment applications.
Value Engineering: Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality or functionality.
Cost Reporting: Prepare regular cost reports and updates to keep the project team informed about financial progress and potential risks.
Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety regulations and contribute to a safe working environment on-site and in the office.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree- Preferably Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
Proven knowledge of quantity surveying principles, practices, and construction processes.
Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in using relevant software tools, such as cost estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
A proactive and self-motivated approach, demonstrating a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
Previous experience or internships in quantity surveying or the construction industry will be advantageous but not mandatory.
Salary and Benefits:
