Graduate Design Engineer

The organisation has been operating for nearly 150 years and have expertise in Aviation, Buildings, Energy, Industry, Infrastructure, Maritime, Urban Development and Water. My client is currently looking for a Graduate Engineer to be based in London. Additional opportunity for the Manchester office. The company are currently flexible with remote working.
Graduate Design Engineers will learn how to provide assistance with the production of detailed design solutions within the design function of the UK Transport team.  The role demands a proactive approach in a team environment and offers substantial opportunity for career progression within the company.
 
Responsibilities
·Assisting Engineers in designs for highway infrastructure and associated planning schemes to appropriate standards from initial concepts to detailed design.
·Assisting the production of Highway sketch concepts drawings and general arrangements to relevant standards.
·Assistance in preparation of contract documents and specifications.
·Helping to undertake inspections and surveys, preparation of reports and site supervision of projects.
·Contributing to the technical development of the design function in the UK.  Staff will be encouraged to develop their own ideas.
 
Other Duties
·Carry out any duties which your line manager may reasonably request within the broad parameters of your role.
 
Skills/Qualifications you will learn:
·Knowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets and relevant Highway standards
·Proficient in the use of Civil 3D
·Ability in micro-drainage software that can be developed
 
You will be/have:
·Good communication skills (written and verbal)
·Good team player and able to contribute to dynamic group
·Commercially aware
·HNC plus extensive experience or BSc /BEng in Civil Engineering
