My client is an independent, multi-disciplinary engineering, environmental and project management consultancy with four offices located across the UK. As an accredited Gold Investor in People, they are committed to developing their staff and creating a supportive, collaborative working culture.
You will be joining the Milton Keynes office. The site offers ample parking, electric vehicle charging points, bicycle racks, an on-site café and attractive surroundings including Victorian ponds. ·Handling and managing samples on site, including loading and unloading equipment and materials.
·Preparing factual and interpretative geotechnical and contamination reports, with support from Senior Engineers where required.
·Assisting with earthworks supervision, remediation oversight, plot validation, topographical surveys, inspection of drainage runs and visual site inspections.
·Undertaking Contractor Quality Assurance (CQA) supervision on landfill sites, including installation of monitoring and leachate wells.
·Carrying out engineering assessments in accordance with British Standards, Eurocode 7, CIRIA and NHBC guidance.
·Producing and coordinating site investigations, including health and safety documentation.
·Working closely with Graduate Engineers, Technicians and Senior Engineers to ensure high-quality data collection and reporting.
·Liaising with clients, contractors and design teams, attending meetings and contributing to fee proposals where required.
·Supporting collaboration across other UK offices, with occasional short-term work at alternative locations if needed.

To succeed as a Geotechnical Engineer, you will have:
·A degree in Geology, Environmental Sciences, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Earth Sciences or a related discipline.
·A minimum of 2 years' experience within an engineering consultancy or site investigation contractor environment.
·Proven experience logging soils and rocks to BS5930.
·A strong understanding of UK geology and the ability to interpret geological maps and site data.
·Knowledge of site investigation methods and techniques.
·Experience with technical design packages such as Geo5 Slope (or similar).
·Working knowledge of Openground logging software.
·Basic CAD skills for producing site plans and cross-sections (GIS knowledge advantageous).
·Strong written and verbal communication skills.
·Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to carry out hand calculations to validate data.
·Excellent organisational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail.
·A full UK driving licence (a pool/hire van or electric vehicle will be available for site work).
·Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to project delivery.

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will receive a competitive salary dependent on experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package including:
·5% employer contribution to the Group Personal Pension Plan
·Payment of a relevant professional subscription
·25 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays
