Job description

My client are committed to excellence and fostering professional growth, and as such are looking for a Geo-environmental Engineer to join their expanding Chester office.
The successful candidate will form part of a team of engineer, geologists and environmental scientists who are part of the larger group of Civil and Structural Engineers.
The team specialise in identifying and quantifying and reducing abnormal costs the developments at an early stage and provide effective holistic solutions for a range of geotechnical, environmental and waste management issues for both commercial and private clients. The successful candidate should have at least two years' experience and should be able to demonstrate a proven track record relating to the management and reporting of contaminated land, geotechnical and civil engineering site investigations.
Knowledge and/or experience in remediation and verification work will also be benefits
The responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to the following:
·Writing of Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports
·Design, set up and management of site investigations, including logging of soils and rocks.
·Management of site based sub- contractors
·Recording and interpretations of site data
·Scheduling of chemical and geotechnical testing
·DQRA's
·Preparation of generic and site-specific health and safety risk assessments
Qualifications
·Experience with the use of borehole software such as HoleBase/AGS
·Excellent MS word and excel skills, as well as basic knowledge of CAD
·Strong communication and report writing
·Applicant should have membership of a professional organisation such as the Geological or CIWEM, ideally working towards Chartered status.
·A relevant Masters degree may be beneficial either within geological or environmental science.
