Flood Risk Design Manager
 
An excellent contract opportunity has arisen for a Flood Risk Design Manager to join a busy team in South Yorkshire on a temporary contract basis until December 2024.
 
The Main Duties and Responsibilities Are:
 
·Driving the delivery programme for the FAS projects and ensuring that the detailed design and third-party approval process will be progressed to completion by the end of 2024.
·Identifying key risks associated with the delivery programme, and working with others to mitigate such risks to ensure the delivery programme maintains momentum through 2024.
·Reviewing and commenting on key deliverables that support the overall process and working with others to complete the deliverables.
·Being proactive in identifying and delivering Biodiversity Net Gain commitments.
·Work to enable small scale capital works (i.e. "No Regrets" works) to be delivered as advanced phases of construction that start in Summer 2024 and continue into 2025.
·Pre-Application/Full planning application submissions and working with others to resolve any issues that arise, such that Full Planning permission is granted in 2024.
·Maintaining progress trackers, communication logs and decision logs, for various issues.
·Landowner/public engagement to arrange access permits for "infill" survey/investigation work (to supplement works already completed) and explaining the FAS projects.
·Proactive communications with interested parties (e.g. simple fact sheets for stakeholders, asset owners, landowners etc).
·Reactive replies to enquiries received (e.g. residents, businesses, FOI's, Councillors etc).
·Liaising with the Council's Communication Team to develop the Council's website with information regarding the FAS projects.
·Assist with the delivery of Business Cases, and supporting documentation, for various funding organisations, and primarily for Environment Agency funding (across various funding streams) to assist in bidding for construction funding.
·Drafting of Procurement Business Case documentation.
·Negotiating Construction Contracts with Contractors, which is likely to be an NEC3 form of contract (delivered via the YORcivils3 framework).
·Agreeing Community Maintenance Plans with other parties.
