London - Flood Risk Consultant
 
My client is a multi-discipline Property and Construction Consultancy, who help their clients create better, more sustainable place for people to live, learn and work.
The London team have an opportunity for someone with hydrology, hydraulic modelling, and river engineering experience to join the team to grow this niche service. For this role we require someone with extensive experience of working with private and public sector clients within the water industry. 
 
This role will require travel to client sites so you must hold a UK valid driving licence. 
 
Your role will include, but not be limited to:
 
·Producing and reviewing a wide range of FRAs and ideally drainage strategies using MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage
·Having responsibility for financial control, project management 
·Mentoring junior staff
·Drafting clear, and concise reports
·Leading bids in the private and public sectors
·Recognising and communicating flooding and drainage related constraints and opportunities at development sites
 
To be considered for this role you must possess / evidence:
 
·A degree in a relevant engineering discipline
·Progress towards or have achieved a relevant professional qualification
·Experience in 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling and GIS, particularly Flood Modeller and Tuflow
·Experience in hydrology, in particular the Flood Estimation Handbook and ReFH2 and WINFAP
·Recognising and communicating flooding and drainage related constraints and opportunities at development sites
·Producing and reviewing a wide range of FRAs and ideally drainage strategies using MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage
·Current and up to date knowledge of the planning system, in particular policy and guidance including the NPPF and SuDS Manual
·Good communication skills in a client facing role
·Ability to write clear and concise reports
·UK valid driving licence
