Estimator
Salary: £65,000-£70,000 + Package
We are a well-established and highly regarded regional earthworks and civil engineering contractor with a strong presence in the Southwest. With over 30 years of experience, we have built a reputation for delivering exceptional service to our clients. As we continue to experience sustained growth, we are seeking a talented and experienced Estimator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate, detailed, and competitive tenders within specified timelines.
Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients and professionals to generate future tender opportunities.
Manage all stages of the tendering process, from initial enquiry to tender submission.
Interpret drawings and specifications to develop comprehensive tenders.
Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings/specifications to create bills of quantities/schedules of rates.
Attend meetings with customers, subcontractors, senior management, and other team members.
Visit project sites as necessary to support the tender process.
Maintain an accurate central database of rates.
Produce and deliver necessary documents upon contract award, including contract particulars and work outputs.
Assist in the preparation of pre-qualification questionnaires and quality statements.
Act as a key reference point for estimates.
Manage subcontractor and material supplier inquiries, including quotation analysis and rate completion for tenders.
Adhere to company Health & Safety Policy in all responsibilities.
Person Specification:
Degree or Higher National Certificate in Construction/Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in estimating, preferably with subcontracting exposure.
Knowledge of civil engineering, groundworks, or earthworks is advantageous.
