Role: Estimator
Location: Reading/hybrid
Salary: Up to £50,000 p/a depending on experience.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
 
Are you an experienced Estimator in the water or electrical industry? My client, a contractor on the Thames Water framework, is looking for an Estimator to demonstrate good commercial and technical aptitude whilst supporting the Project Managers.
 
Reporting to the Estimator manager, you will be undertaking the estimation of a variety of Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (with some minor mechanical/civils) related schemes.
 
Your role will involve:
 
·Initial project feasibility, survey and estimation
·Preparation of tenders - site surveys and client scoping meetings.
·Build and maintain good working relationships with clients, sub-contractors and suppliers.
·Read and fully understand client specifications and drawings.
·Understand documentation required for formal submissions.
·Prepare material, labour, plant and subcontractor cost analysis.
·Preparing quotations to the required standard.
·Attending site visits and client meetings
·Consider site safety, health, and environmental issues
·Compile and collate documentation, schedules, and data sheets etc. for inclusion into final formal proposal submissions.
·Ensure detailed handover to assigned PM.
·Work to demanding timescales within a successful team.

·Assist others in selection of materials and sub-contractors when required to do so and propose alternative materials or methods.
·Ensure that all Company Policies & Procedures are adhered to.
·Uphold the Company's brand name & reputation and ensure it is not damaged.
 
 
Required Skills:
 
·Surveying and quoting/estimating experience.
·The ideal candidate will be degree qualified.
·Water Industry experience is desirable.
·Mechanical, Electrical or Civil experience is desirable.
