Estates Surveyor - General Property & Strategic Assets
£450p/d Umbrella Rate (Inside IR35)
3-4 Days Onsite - Flexible Working
3 month initial contract with view to extend

Join a dynamic and forward-thinking Estates Team focused on reimagining how council property assets are managed, optimised, and aligned with long-term priorities.
We're working with a local authority seeking two Surveyors - one to support the Strategic Asset Management function and the other to lead on General Property and Estates Management. Both roles are key to unlocking creative and value-driven use of public assets.
About the Council & Team:
The Estates Team is a motivated, energetic group responsible for enhancing the Council's Commercial Property Portfolio. Their mission: drive capital receipts and maximise revenue generation through smarter, more imaginative estate strategies.
What You'll Be Doing:
·Deliver valuation, estates management, and general surveying advice to departments across the Council
·Support and contribute to acquisition and disposal negotiations of various land and property interests
·Undertake and assist in statutory valuations (with sign-off from an MRICS Registered Valuer)
·Respond to day-to-day estate and valuation enquiries from internal stakeholders
·Act as a representative for the Council in cross-departmental property discussions and projects
·Contribute to the delivery of land and premises reviews aligned with strategic council priorities
·Promote value-for-money approaches, support new procedures, and help modernise the property function
Who We're Looking For:
·UK Resident
·A RICS qualified surveyor (preferred but not essential), or someone with relevant qualifications (NQF Level 5/6)
·MUST have minimum 3 years' estates experience within a local authority setting.
·Someone confident advising on a range of estate matters from lease renewals to asset reviews
·Experience in both operational estate work and the strategic side is a bonus - but roles can flex based on your strengths
·Able to attend site 3-4 days a week, with flexible working available the rest of the time
