My client is currently looking for a Project Engineering / Environmental Geologist with previous relevant industry experience, who is keen to progress their career working on 'added value' ground investigations & consultancy projects within a small, professional, team.
 
A relevant BSc degree in geology or similar is essential, and a MSc in Engineering Geology or Environmental Geology will be advantageous.
 
With support from colleagues, you will manage and deliver a range of technical projects including Phase 1 Desk Studies, Geotechnical and Contaminated Land Ground Investigation/Assessments, Remedial Method Statements and Verification Works. The company encourages full ownership of projects with support from senior colleagues throughout.
 
The responsibilities for this positions will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Preparation of Phase I Desk Studies.
- Design, set-up, and management of site investigations, including sampling and logging of soils and rocks.
- Scheduling of chemical and geotechnical laboratory testing.
- Preparation of site-specific Health and Safety risk assessments.
- Gas and groundwater Monitoring.
- Preparation of Geotechnical and Phase II Contamination Reports, Remedial Method Statements and Verification Reports.
 
As the role will involve both client and regulator liaison, good communication and report writing skills will be required.
