My client is currently looking for a Project Engineering / Environmental Geologist with previous relevant industry experience, who is keen to progress their career working on 'added value' ground investigations & consultancy projects within a small, professional, team.
A relevant BSc degree in geology or similar is essential, and a MSc in Engineering Geology or Environmental Geology will be advantageous.
With support from colleagues, you will manage and deliver a range of technical projects including Phase 1 Desk Studies, Geotechnical and Contaminated Land Ground Investigation/Assessments, Remedial Method Statements and Verification Works. The company encourages full ownership of projects with support from senior colleagues throughout.
The responsibilities for this positions will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Preparation of Phase I Desk Studies.
- Design, set-up, and management of site investigations, including sampling and logging of soils and rocks.
- Scheduling of chemical and geotechnical laboratory testing.
- Preparation of site-specific Health and Safety risk assessments.
- Gas and groundwater Monitoring.
- Preparation of Geotechnical and Phase II Contamination Reports, Remedial Method Statements and Verification Reports.
As the role will involve both client and regulator liaison, good communication and report writing skills will be required.
You will be self-driven with a positive outlook, capable of working on a number of projects at the same time, often with fast turnaround times. You will be a good team worker who learns quickly, can promote new ideas and new ways of working. You will be expected to work as part of a small team of skilled technical staff. Confident, pro-active, mature, and adaptable, you will be committed to grow with the company into the future. You must be a team player and fit in with the company ethos of delivering high quality, client focused, consultancy advice.
As a commercial company there is plenty of scope to use existing skills, discover new ones and develop your strengths. You will encounter numerous opportunities for personal development and promotion. They are developing their systems of work and capabilities constantly and their dedicated senior team will help support your work. The company provides a wealth of opportunity to broaden the range and nature of the experience enjoyed by their staff.
