Role: Electrical Engineer - Water Industry
Location: London - potential for remote working
Rate: £40 - £50 an hour - depending on experience - Umbrella
Duration: 6 month - ongoing
Start Date: ASAP
 
My client are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their busy team working on AMP7 projects within the water industry some of the projects that you will be working on include:
·LV & HV power systems, motor control centres, process instrumentation, process automation and state of the art control systems.
·Electrical systems modelling.
·DSEAR/ATEX and functional safety.
·Using intelligent P&IDs, 3D designs, plant visualization and virtual reality techniques.
·Power systems analysis software.
·Using intelligent design schedules and MCC design tool.
 
Responsibilities include:
·Asset surveys and assessments, using cutting-edge technologies and techniques as appropriate.
·Feasibility, outline and detailed electrical and ICA design work (transformers, generators, LVSB, MCC, instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, telemetry etc.) including equipment and system specifications, design schedules, drawings: SLDs, BCDs, earthing, systems architecture diagrams, user requirement specifications (URS/FDS), technical design risk assessments, P&IDs, cost and programme estimations.
·Technical report writing at all stages of the project lifecycle.
·Support and/or lead bids, fee proposals or offers of service; development of activity schedules/work plans.
·Delivering projects as a part of multidisciplinary, multi-location, multi-party teams.
·Preparing profile-raising material such as technical papers and presentations to conferences, staff and clients.
·Contributing to new innovative ideas/ making suggestions for innovation.
·Working with and developing new automated digital design tools.
 
Skills and Experience:
·Degree-qualified with an Electrical or ICA bias; ideally a chartered Member of a recognised engineering institution.
·Experience working within the water/wastewater industry and will ideally have already spent a proportion of your career in the water or a related similar industry that can be applied.
·You will have experience of managing and mentor teams and/or individuals and/or projects, potentially split across disciplines and locations.
·A developing external profile and reputation; a desire and willingness to raise the profile of oneself and the Company.
