Job Title: EC&I  Engineer
Salary: £50,000 a year
Location: Hybrid 2 days a week in office (Regional Offices)
Your Purpose: As an EC&I Systems Engineer you will contribute to the design of EC&I systems solutions for our clients, ranging from conventional hardwired systems to advanced programmable systems used in safety and security critical contexts. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing cost-effective engineering design solutions and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality engineering projects within specified timelines, budgets, and to customer satisfaction.
  • Managing end-to-end EC&I system projects, encompassing functional safety, FEED, specifications, high-level and detailed design, coding, testing, and installation and commissioning activities.
  • Collaborating with clients to understand their technical requirements and fostering productive client relationships.
  • Verifying junior engineers' EC&I technical documentation.
  • Assisting in providing technical input for proposals and tenders.

Essential:

  • Proficiency in working on diverse projects under senior supervision.
  • Knowledge and experience in a wide range of electrical control equipment and its application in automated and safety-related systems.
  • Strong understanding of process systems and their control mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with electrical and safety sector standards, including BS EN 61508.

Desirable:

  • A solid grasp of the safety lifecycle for EC&I safety systems.
  • Experience in designing, substantiating, verifying, and validating high-integrity software-based protection and safety control systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming, system integration, HMI and SCADA configuration and development, software testing techniques, and experience with the installation and commissioning of PLC/SCADA systems.
  • Working knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Chartered engineer status with a relevant professional body or the experience necessary to qualify for such certification.
