PART TIME - OUTSIDE IR35
 
What we need:
Carrington West are pleased to be working with our client, a local authority based in the South East of the UK, to find an experienced and reliable Drainage Engineer.
The job is a 6-month contract which will be worked from home full time initially based on a 22 hour week.

What you will do:
The Drainage Engineer will work with the Flood and Water Management team to assist with a range of Lead Local Flood Authority duties within and external to the authority, primarily in terms of checking drainage designs submitted at planning and assisting the LLFA in other statutory functions.  The successful candidate will have a good range of drainage design / review skills in these areas:
·Good understanding / working knowledge of the NPPF / SuDS Manual requirements
·Experience in undertaking drainage design reviews submitted at planning
·Experience in undertaking and checking a range of SuDS calculations
·Detailed understanding of groundwater / infiltration test requirements for drainage design
·Understanding / experience of foul drainage would be beneficial but not essential.
·Resources should also be experienced in the use of Microdrainage / Causeway Flow.

What you will need to succeed:
Degree qualified in Civil engineering
You will have several years' experience in undertaking drainage modelling and design, ideally gained within a consultancy or local authority environment. You should have the knowledge to prepare estimates of future work for incorporation in proposals and be comfortable meeting with clients to discuss present and future projects. 
You will be proficient in the use of Microdrainage, Causeway Flow, AutoCAD, ideally Civils 3D/ PDS,
Working conditions / environment:
·Currently working from home whilst covid restrictions are in place.
·Site visits if and when required (to live highways and construction sites)
·Communicating feedback to the general public.
·Ability to travel when and where required
