Job description

My client is seeking an Engineer / Senior Civil Engineer to join their reputable civil infrastructure and drainage team in Northampton. This is a great opportunity to join a close-knit group with a strong forward workload and an established track record. They can offer flexible working options between home and office working which will help maintain a good work life blend and effective team working.
The team has been at the heart of community development in the midlands for a number of years. Their multi-disciplinary team works on a diverse range of projects from local community infrastructure schemes to strategic national projects. They are fortunate to work with an excellent range of clients in the Midlands and beyond and their client-focused approach has enhanced their reputation as one of the leading development consultancies, both locally and nationally.
They can provide the opportunity to work on the major new settlements in the region, or community-based projects from concept design through to detailed design, and beyond to on-site.
On a day to day basis, you will play an important role within the team. You will support and oversee the production of designs, analysis and assessment for all types and scales of development projects. You will mentor and guide more junior Engineer and Technician colleagues in the effective delivery of outputs to agreed deadlines.
You will liaise with the internal and external clients and design teams on projects and be involved in the delivery and management of successful and timely outcomes. Your role will be varied and challenging, and you will have the opportunity to learn from the wider group and take your career to the next level.
About You
Ideally you'll be MEng/BEng qualified and a Chartered Engineer (or on route to Chartership). You will be focused of achieving coordinated solutions, a tactical thinker and effective at communicating with both internal and external parties (for example utility companies, drainage authorities, highway authorities).
Ideally, you will have expertise in infrastructure and drainage design to deliver multi-disciplinary projects for the entire lifecycle - from concept and planning through to detailed design and delivery. You will have a proven record of delivering projects closely with clients across technical disciplines and experience of mentoring and managing the workload of junior team members. Skills with Civils 3D, MicroDrainage and utility coordination are advantageous.
Your passion and experience of delivering quality infrastructure design solutions and managing of processes with regulators and local authorities is most crucial to your success in this role.
