An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Drainage Engineer to join a busy local authority client in the Manchester area.

The main duties of the experienced Drainage Engineer are:

• Support the Highways and Infrastructure teams in delivering drainage and flood risk management projects.
• Design, inspect, and maintain sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), culverts, sewers, and surface water networks in line with legislation and council standards.
• Provide technically accurate advice and support to internal teams, contractors, and the public regarding drainage schemes.
• Conduct site investigations, surveys, and feasibility assessments to inform design and maintenance decisions.
• Manage and implement drainage improvement projects, ensuring compliance with statutory and environmental requirements.
• Liaise effectively with residents, developers, and stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and update management information systems for drainage schemes.
• Identify issues in assigned work, recommend improvements, and support process and service enhancements.
• Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations, service level agreements, and council standards.
• Commit to personal development and continuous improvement in service delivery.
