Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Drainage Engineer to join a busy local authority client in the Manchester area.
The main duties of the experienced Drainage Engineer are:
- Support the Highways and Infrastructure teams in delivering drainage and flood risk management projects.
- Design, inspect, and maintain sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), culverts, sewers, and surface water networks in line with legislation and council standards.
- Provide technically accurate advice and support to internal teams, contractors, and the public regarding drainage schemes.
- Conduct site investigations, surveys, and feasibility assessments to inform design and maintenance decisions.
- Manage and implement drainage improvement projects, ensuring compliance with statutory and environmental requirements.
- Liaise effectively with residents, developers, and stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and update management information systems for drainage schemes.
- Identify issues in assigned work, recommend improvements, and support process and service enhancements.
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations, service level agreements, and council standards.
- Commit to personal development and continuous improvement in service delivery.
