My client is seeking a high-calibre individual to head up their Leeds Transport Planning function, forming part of the national Transport and Mobility Planning leadership team. You will have autonomy to drive regional growth, supported by an experienced senior team across the UK.
My client is a leading environmental and sustainability consultancy with over 4,000 employees worldwide. Their Transport & Mobility Planning team delivers sustainable, commercially sound solutions that support development and net zero objectives. With a strong presence across the Midlands and North, this role will be central to strengthening and expanding the Leeds offer.

As Director you will lead and grow the Leeds team while contributing to regional strategy. You will secure new business, manage key client relationships and oversee delivery of complex development projects from feasibility and site promotion through planning applications, negotiation, appeals and public inquiries where required.
You will negotiate fees, manage project finances and ensure high-quality delivery. You will recruit, mentor and develop colleagues, promote a positive team culture and ensure compliance with CDM responsibilities.

To be considered for this Director role, you will be an experienced, commercially minded transport planner with a strong track record in work winning and team leadership. You will demonstrate budget management experience, strong private sector client contacts and extensive development sector knowledge across a range of land uses. Public sector or DCO experience is welcomed.

You will have a strong understanding of planning, policy and legal frameworks, alongside technical expertise in sustainable transport strategies and modelling. Excellent leadership and communication skills are essential.

In return, you will benefit from structured career progression, pension, private healthcare, life and travel insurance, 25 days' annual leave plus flexible bank holidays, and flexible, agile and hybrid working arrangements.
