Job Description:
We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic and skilled Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to a major highways project in South Wales. As a Design Engineer, you'll play a vital role in planning and executing this high-profile project, ensuring it meets the highest quality and safety standards.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Collaborate with the project team to refine and develop design concepts that align with project goals and specifications.
 
 Use your engineering know-how to create detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for various aspects of the highways project, including roads, bridges, drainage systems, and traffic management.
 
 Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, construction pros, and stakeholders, to coordinate design activities and tackle design-related challenges.
 
Conduct rigorous quality reviews and assessments of design documentation, spotting and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
 
Stay updated on industry trends and cutting-edge design tech, proposing and implementing improvements to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.
 
Assist in estimating costs and conducting value engineering exercises to optimize project budgets without sacrificing quality.
 
 
Qualifications:
 
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field. Having a Master's degree is a plus.
Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards it.
Proven experience as a Design Engineer in civil infrastructure projects, preferably in highways or transportation.
Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools.
Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
A deep commitment to safety and sustainable design practices.
