Job description

Are you a skilled Contracts Manager with a proven track record in delivering successful projects within the highways sector?
 
Requirement for a Contracts Manager to work on highways projects, taking place all over the UK. This will be carried out over day shifts.  
 
As a Contracts Manager you will hold experience in civils and highways. You will also work closely with, and responsible to, the Operations Manager, you are also responsible for all aspects of the management of contracts including Health & Safety documentation, correspondence, monthly valuations and final account settlements.
 
You will need to ensure positive contractual performance with regard to budget and programme. As a Contracts Manager you must be mobile and prepared to travel and work throughout the United Kingdom, and in other areas, if required.
 
This role is paying OUTSIDE IR35!
 
As a Contracts Manager you will also need to have a SMSTS, CSCS Black Card & ideally an AP for cranes.

Duties include:
·Submit required Health & Safety documentation to client / main contractor.
·Working with the team and the Health & Safety Advisor review, monitor and revise Health & Safety practices, as necessary, on all contracts.
·Attend site and internal monthly Health & Safety meetings.
·Ensure a consistent and pragmatic approach to HSQE.
·Review Contract highlighting any contentious items ready for submission to the commercial manager for signature.
·Attend internal subcontract start up meetings.
·Preparation of Method Statements, Risk, COSHH and Environmental Assessments, Crane Lifting Plans, Platform certificates, programme etc.
·Liase with and communicate with Piling Managers on a continual basis to ensure smooth running of contracts.
·Attend weekly programme meetings with management team to discuss performance, opportunities, current & future workload, contract resources and logistics.
·Ensure all work items are included in valuations, including forecasted items within the periods.
·Site Diaries compiled and maintained for each contract.
·Ensure that contract resources are purchased and delivered to site as required.
·Ensure that tender allowances are realised or bettered.
·Liaise with Operations manager, works manager, and commercial manager to select and appoint suitable subcontractors and ensure subcontract orders are completed.
·Liase with Design Engineer (internal and/or external) to ensure the most economical design solution is reached.
