Commercial Manager - Infrastructure Services
 
Salary up to £85,000+ Bonus

About Us:
We are a leading infrastructure services company operating in the East Midlands region, managing a diverse portfolio of Design-Build-Finance-Operate (DBFO) contracts and a Term Services Contract (TSC). We are now seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Manager to join our senior management team. As the Commercial Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects, driving sustainable shareholder value, and upholding our core values.
 
Role Overview:
As the Commercial Manager, you will be primarily based at our Milton Keynes site with occasional travel to our operational depots. Your key responsibility will be managing the commercial functions and governance of all contracts within the business unit, aligning them with corporate objectives and agreed processes.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Collaborate with the employer on commercial and contractual matters, ensuring timely application and payment for the works.
Work closely with the operational teams and the Client to develop and implement annual business and delivery plans.
Support operational teams in budget development and ensure accurate monthly reporting, identifying any variances.
Implement and optimize Commercial processes for each contract to ensure efficiency.
Lead and develop the commercial team, fostering positive staff morale.
Establish robust and manageable contracts with supply chain partners.
Ensure appropriate sub-contracts are in place with all supply chain partners.
Properly record and pursue early warnings and compensation events in line with contract requirements.
Oversee Commercial management and reporting, collaborating with operational and contract managers.
Monitor budget and ensure budget certainty.
Challenge operational teams on monthly results and drive improvement.
Identify and notify core Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
Develop and maintain the contract Risk and Opportunity Register.
Assess performance of supply chain companies using eSource.
Measure and manage individual team member performance.
Communicate information in a clear and concise manner.
 
Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience leading a commercial team is essential.
Excellent knowledge of the NEC Suite of Contracts, particularly the Term Services Contract.
Experience with Design-Build-Finance-Operate (DBFO) contracts or the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with their specifics.
Strong understanding of highway maintenance contracts.
Experience or working in a construction office.
Degree or Post Graduate qualification in Quantity Surveying, or an associated construction-related field.
Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
