Interim Building Surveyor
Warwick District Council
6 month initial contract (with view to extend)
£28p/h Umbrella (INSIDE IR35)
We're looking for a highly skilled and motivated Building Surveyor to join Warwick's Technical Team - someone who can balance a strong technical background with a proactive approach to improving homes, reducing disrepair, and ensuring their property portfolio is fit for the future.
You'll lead on disrepair and HHSRS casework, while also supporting wider responsibilities including planned and cyclical maintenance, condition surveys, and project delivery across both residential and commercial assets.
Your key responsibilities will include:
·Taking ownership of disrepair cases, ensuring a proactive response to HHSRS-related issues
·Carrying out condition and dilapidation surveys, and regular property inspections
·Supporting the delivery of planned, cyclical, and capital works programmes
·Managing a variety of construction projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
·Overseeing contractors, monitoring quality and budgets, and ensuring value for money
·Identifying opportunities to improve services with a strong customer-first approach
·Advising on technical solutions across both housing and corporate/commercial assets
What do you need?
To be successful in your application for this role you will need to demonstrate ALL the following on application and through the interview process:
·UK Resident
·MUST have minimum 3 years' experience of working in a local authority building surveying/project management post.
·Strong knowledge of disrepair law, HHSRS regulations, and landlord obligations
·Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including tenants and contractors
·A proactive, collaborative approach to delivering high standards and long-term solutions
