Job Title: Associate Director - Town Planning
Location: Winchester
Contract Type: Permanent
Role Purpose:
I am currently assisting a client seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate Director to join their Town Planning team in Winchester. In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for leading complex planning projects from inception to completion, managing client relationships, and driving business development. You will play a pivotal role in shaping strategic planning advice, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
·Lead and manage a portfolio of complex planning projects, ensuring delivery to time, budget, and quality standards.
·Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders to secure repeat business and new opportunities.
·Provide strategic planning advice, demonstrating a thorough understanding of planning policy, legislation, and market trends.
·Mentor and support junior and mid-level team members, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing.
·Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and consultants to deliver integrated planning solutions.
·Drive business growth through proactive client engagement and identifying new work streams.
·Oversee compliance with industry regulations and company processes throughout all project phases.
·Represent the company at industry forums, public consultations, and client meetings
Skills & Experience:
·Significant experience in a senior planning role with proven leadership capabilities, ideally at Associate Director or similar level.
·Comprehensive knowledge of town planning legislation, policy frameworks, and development management processes.
·Strong commercial acumen and a track record in business development and client relationship management.
·Relevant degree in Town Planning (BSc or MSc) with professional accreditation (RTPI or equivalent) preferred.
·Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
·Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-profile projects and lead multidisciplinary teams effectively.
