What we need
Our client a principal contractor working in the South West is looking for an experienced, reliable and available Assistant Project Manager to help with work on a major scheme taking place in the region.

What you will do
As Assistant Project Manager, you will be helping them to deliver a major Highways project. You will:
· Support tendering and other work winning activities as appropriate.
· Resource management
· Subcontractor selection and performance
· Promoting and implementing health and safety initiatives and feedback
ideal candidates will reside in South West UK area. To be successful in this role you will require extensive experience in successfully assisting the management of major highways projects. You will be commercially aware and can take the lead on site, ensuring all aspects of your projects are delivered efficiently with an excellent record in quality, health, safety and environment. In addition, you will be expected to be able to plan and programme your works, prepare method statements, and manage your site team and subcontractors.

Regularly undertakes safety audits / inspections Also sets clear line management targets for the members of the site team.
Meets targets set by own manager and is focused on developing capability further.
Has worked on Civil engineering projects, preferably on highways.  
SMSTS competent.
Correct CSCS card
Good level of IT skills
