My client is looking for an Assistant Civil Engineer to join their Infrastructure Engineering team based in Leeds.
 
Duties will include:
Design calculations suitable for a building regulations submission in support of technical drawing work.
Generation of Technical Drawings using AutoCAD (appropriate to department requirements).
Working up checked drawings in accordance with the checking Engineers requirements.
Being a contact point for other design team members outside the company.
Attendance at design team meetings either individually or accompanied.
Issuing documents and drawings in accordance with the QA system.
Preparation of basic reports (appropriate to department requirements).
Inspection of construction work.
Gathering on site information for the production of reports (Trial Pits / Appraisals / Levelling / Traffic etc.).
Printing & Binding of drawings and reports.
Filing.
Such other comparable duties as may be expected by the Head of Department.
 
The post holder will be directly responsible for:
Ensuring that, if the first point of contact for individual projects, senior staff are kept aware of any developments with the project.
Ensuring that all drawing work is provided to the assigning Engineer for checking in good time prior to the required issue date.
Time management of the post holder and subordinates.
Ensuring that work is checked and signed off prior to issue.
Ensuring that work is issued with all appropriate documentation to the correct parties.
Completion of Timesheets by Monday (noon) of the following week.
Personnel conduct whilst at work in accordance with company regulations.
 
As part of their continued professional development, the post holder will be expected to undertake their Professional Development in pursuance of a professional qualification.
