I'm currently recruiting for a growing business who are looking for Assistant Highway Engineer to support the team.  As an Assistant Highways Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and delivery of innovative concrete and bituminous road renewals schemes on the prestigious M25 network. Working closely with the Project Manager and Principal Engineer, you'll be an integral part of our integrated design and delivery team.
 
My client is offering a 3 month contract initially which is highly likely to be extended.
 
The role falls inside IR35.
 
The Role
·Assist in designing and producing design packages and construction documentation.
·Develop highway maintenance schemes, identifying defects, determining treatments, and creating construction documents.
·Update and utilize asset management systems.
·Manage and conduct highway condition inspections and surveys.
·Produce technical reports and other relevant technical output to achieve project outcomes.
·Undertake site visits, surveys, and investigations.
·Support the on-site construction team.
·Utilize design software, including 3D modeling.
·Ensure work is undertaken in compliance with QSE standards and processes.
·Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to understand and develop project objectives and deliverables.
 
The Ideal Candidate
·UK design and construction experience within the highway sector.
·Proficiency in AutoCAD & Civils 3D.
·A Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
·Familiarity with design standards, including DMRB & MCDHW.
·Commercial awareness in project delivery.
·Strong understanding of Health, Safety & Welfare, and Environment in design and construction.
·Awareness/experience of Highway Authority standards.
·Working knowledge of programming tools such as ASTA.
·Computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Excel and Word.
·Experience in asset condition surveys.
