Assistant Director of Highways
 
We are looking for an Assistant Director of Highways to join Derbyshire County Council on an initial 6-month contract. For this role you will need to have previous senior leadership experience within a local authority. The role will entail hybrid working, however will require you to be in the office on a weekly basis.
 
More about what you will be doing:
·Derbyshire County Council are looking to recruit an interim Assistant Director Highways Delivery for a period of 6 months. Reporting to the Director of Highways, the post holder will lead and coordinate the delivery of highway management, design and construction services across major projects, carriageway, footway, structures, traffic signals, streetlighting, rights of way, traffic and road safety, floods and drainage, cycling and public transport works. You will also assist the Director in the development of the future highway service, which is currently undertaking a major transformation, together with the procurement of a new Highways Professional Services Partner to support the highways design and other services.
