Asset Surveyor
£400p/d Umbrella Rate (flexible), Inside IR35
Initial 6 Months

Who will you be joining?  
Local Authority Property Team looking for a Surveyor to come in and undertake a full range of Project Management & Building Surveying duties and responsibilities, as required in order to maintain and improve the Council's property portfolio and housing stock, ensuring that the Council's responsibilities and duties as landlord and service provider are upheld in line with current and pending legislation.
 
What will you do?
·To manage key, repair, maintenance, refurbishment and improvement contracts, practicing the traditional contract and project management surveying competencies to secure best value for the Council and its customers, ensuring compliance with relevant statutory legislation relating to buildings, plant, services and equipment and maintaining effective working relationships with the relevant client departments.
·To assist in the delivery of a programme of improvement and planned maintenance to the Council's homes and corporate assets to ensure the good maintenance of buildings and land, improve the living environment and enhance or maintain the value of the Council's property portfolio.
·To demonstrate to property occupants that intended operations are to be beneficial in the long term which will override any short-term inconvenience to their lifestyle.
 
What do you need?  
To be successful in your application for this role you will need to demonstrate the following on application and through the interview process:  
·HNC, HND, Degree relevant to the built environment or a proven track record and 3 years' experience of working for a local authority, housing provider or other appropriate provider in a relevant field
·Experience of undertaking building surveys and planning and managing the resultant works.
·Experience of monitoring and managing budgets for individual projects.
·Basic knowledge of housing repairs legislation and standards e.g., the decent homes standard/HHSRS
