Are you an experienced Tree Inspector looking for a new opportunity?
 
My client a Local Authority in London are currently looking for a tree inspector to join their team on an initial 3month contract.
 
The Role
To ensure the health and safety of the Borough's tree stock.The successful candidates will be conducting routine inspections as well as dealing with reactive requests from members. The council are currently in their peak TPO enquiries and the Oak Processional moth statutory notices from the forestry commission.
 
The council also need to start preparing for tree planting. The successful candidates will help to identify sites, identifying and purchasing trees in readiness to start from November.
We are seeking an individual with a passion to take an active role in the protection and management of the Borough's trees.  You will be a key resource with a sound technical knowledge and a clear understanding of how an arboricultural service fits within the council.
You will be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative and manage tight deadlines, but also be able to contribute to the interdisciplinary work of the wider service.
To succeed in this role you will have an in-depth knowledge of tree issues along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience of working with contractors, residents, Councillors and other departments to achieve best practice and retention of the council's overall tree stock is also an essential requirement. 
You will be an ideal candidate if you meet this criteria, are a member of a relevant trade organisation, have a valid driving licence, use of a vehicle and the flexibility to work outside normal working hours as necessary.
 
This is an initial 3 month post with rates upto £40/h depending on experience. YOu will be required to attend the office/carry out site visits twice a week the rest of the working can be carried out from home.
