Job description

Role: Technical Author - Nuclear
Location: Plymouth
Duration: 12 months +
Rate: £300 - £450 per day - Via Umbrella
IR35 Status: Inside
Start date: ASAP
 
Current SC clearance is required for this role.
 
Responsibilities include:
·Work closely with Bid Managers and Lead Authors in supporting the wider company teams to create complete, concise, compelling and client specific bid submission materials.
·Ensure all information presented to the client is consistent, timely and of the highest quality.
·Research and write allocated prequalification and tender responses
·Determine high-level structure for response templates
·Ensure compelling responses are created for allotted questions.
·Interview SME's to gain specific detail, including who, what, why, where and when
·Work with and challenge the SMEs and Bid Managers to develop a storyboard, written response, and sketched graphics
·Lead / support storyboard sessions
·Review pink and red review comments with SME and address
·Write a clear, concise response which reflects our solution, value proposition and ITT documents; gather compelling evidence to support solutions
·Ensure quality of PQQ and tender submissions for which you are responsible
·Proof reading of other people's documents when required, as a guardian of quality writing across the department
·Work within the departmental quality procedures and processes
·Add creative ideas to the team and input into presentation text and infographics
 
Skills and experience:
·Minimum of 3 years' experience of professional writing and submitting bid materials in a services environment
·High standard of literacy and document formatting
·Meticulous attention to detail, especially for proof reading and editing documents
·Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Word and PowerPoint.
·Comfortable with formatting MS word documents to exacting standards
·Strong organisational / project management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
·Able to maximise information and resources available and be happy to research information when required
·Ability to analyse and implement new procedures that improve the PQQ and bid win rates
·Flexible attitude and approach to tackling a wide range of work and occasionally working outside standard hours

- Degree educated in business or marketing-related discipline
