An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Streetlighting Engineer to come and join a busy client in the Merseyside area. This position has been deemed OUTSIDE IR35.

The main duties and responsibilities of the experienced Streetlighting Engineer are:

• Cost effective design of all categories of street lighting and associated work to a quality system, including preparation of contract documents.  Provision of cost and time estimates for execution of work.
• Representing the Authority in areas relevant to Street Lighting, such as input into the Local Plans, Electricity Supply negotiations, liaison with the Distribution Network Operators, Merseyside Lighting Engineering Group.
• Preparation of briefs for outside consultants.  Liaison with and supervision of consultants as necessary.
• Attendance at public inquiries and public participation meetings as and when required.
• Assisting in the management of the street lighting aspect of developments through a design service or those carried out by third parties, including technical assessments, receipt of fee income and formal adoption procedures.  (Includes S.38/S.278 Agreements etc.).
•  Managing the life cycle of Section 278 and 38 projects including bonds, fees, approvals, databases and completion files.
• Provide strategic engineering knowledge into creating and investigating forward street lighting improvement schemes to support the Growth Programme.
