We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join our esteemed client for an exciting public realm and highways scheme based in Surrey. The successful Quantity Surveyor will play a crucial role in managing the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring cost efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of quality throughout the construction process.

Responsibilities:
·Manage all commercial aspects of the project, including cost estimation, budget control, and procurement.
·Conduct thorough cost analysis and risk assessment to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting.
·Prepare and review tender documents, contracts, and variations.
·Collaborate closely with the project team to optimize cost-effectiveness and value engineering.
·Provide regular reports on project financials and progress to senior management and stakeholders.
·Monitor and assess subcontractor performance and manage payments accordingly.
·Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.

Requirements:
·Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
·Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Highways and Civils sector, preferably on public realm projects.
·Proficient knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control techniques.
·Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
·Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
·Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
·Familiarity with relevant software and tools such as CostX, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
·Membership in a relevant professional organization (e.g., RICS) is desirable.
