Project Manager (Design)
 
Salary: 45,000-50,000 + Car allowance
 
Reporting to the Design Team Leader and deputising when required, the role will manage the implementation of the programmes of work, ensuring that these are in accordance with policies and strategic aims of the County Council. Promoting a high level of customer service. Managing a team to ensure that their programme of work is implemented according to agreed time scales and the required quality and legislative requirements.
 
The Role
 
- Reporting to the Design Team Leader, you will be responsible for the preparation of feasibility studies, scheme reports, scheme design for highways, drainage, flooding, and a variety of other projects
- You will be responsible for resolving technical issues as they occur for a range of areas across the project and for the monitoring of progress.
- You will be expected to attend progress meetings, public exhibitions, and public inquiries.
- Required to be mobile and able to attend all site and depot locations within Buckinghamshire
- Line management of a team comprising of engineering staff
- Providing coaching and mentoring to Junior members of staff
- Management and deployment of suitable resources to ensure deadlines are successfully met to the required standards.
- Deliver the programme of works within their group ensuring that it is delivered to budget, to programme and to the right quality.
 
About You
 
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related subject
- IEng/CEng and MICE status or equivalent
- A high level of project management experience is required to direct complex projects and to provide technical support and mentoring staff.
- Proven knowledge and experience in financial management and control of projects.
- Capable of managing a challenging workload subject to change at short notice.
- Ability to prioritise own work to support business priorities
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key people both internally and externally including elected members, stakeholders, and members of the public and other design organisations
