Job description

My client are a large Power Infrastructure company, looking to increase their workforce within the Independent Connection arm to their business. They are a large UK Network provider and renewable energy company. They deliver energy to consumers across several regions and are working to increase the UK's green energy usage.

They have excellent employee engagement and opportunities for flexible working. This is a long term contract opportunity to work for several years as a contractor. Working on ICP's you will b a part of  growing side to the business.
 
The project designer role is for an experienced designer and involves the coordination and management of a profile of new connection builds and alterations. You will be dealing with domestic and commercial sites that require independent connections. You will be working from initial contact through to final design.
 
Responsibilities:
 
·Produce and issue cost variations for delivery partners
·Produce accurate costings within time scale
·Professional liaison with customers and their partners
·Consistent knowledge and application of the Design & Connection Charging Policies
·Produce work designs and review the contestable works of third parties
·Review legal plans from a design prospective
·Assist in resolving and responding to customer queries, liaising with other members of staff
·Close liaison with the CiC Delivery team and partner companies
·Produce work packs including safety and delivery instructions
 
Skills, knowledge and qualifications required:
 
·Ability to travel between office locations
·BTEC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
·God understanding of electrical distribution systems between 400V & 33kV
·Awareness of safety, environmental  and financial regulations including SLC15, SLC12 and SLC52
·Be self motivated
·HAve experience of working in a team
·Ability to build good working relations with customers and colleagues
·Knowledge of the CiC Code of Practise
·Good problem solving skills
