What we need:
Carrington West are pleased to be working with our client, a busy local authority based in the southeast, to find an experienced and available Principal Highways Engineer.

What you will do:
Workload will be within the Major Highways and Highways sectors to assist with the delivery of busway Infrastructure, LTN 1/20 cycle measures, signal junctions, roundabouts and environmental enhancements that meet the latest standards and planning requirements for schemes ranging from £100k to £15m.  Encompassing all stages from outline feasibility, feasibility, detailed design, and implementation.   

What you will need to succeed:
Essential skills required include highways infrastructure project management and design, A good working knowledge 3D geometric design using Civils 3D, experience of directing the workload of a small team, a good working knowledge of highway design standards and experienced technical reviewer.  The engineer will have experience of producing programmes using Microsoft Project, financial control of assigned projects and management of change control.
Desirable skills include experience of using Civils 3D for BIM modelling, experience in the preparation and tendering of schedule of rate and full contracts for infrastructure works. Experience of producing surface water drainage design.  It is desirable the engineer has a good working knowledge of assessing the risk and impact on the delivery of highway infrastructure, mitigation measures and final handover of the asset. Experience of working with local authorities and other stakeholders will add value.
 
What you will get in return:
You will be paid £40 per hour with flexible working from home arrangements. The job is initially a 6 month contract with likely scope for extension. This job can be worked Outside IR35 if you meet the required criteria, please ask the consultant for more details on this.
