An exciting contract opportunity has arisen for a Highway Design Engineer to work on a 12-month contract for an established private sector consultancy in Manchester, working on exciting projects.
 
As the successful candidate you will be given the opportunity to work on some of the biggest Highway Schemes in the UK, including The A66 Northern Trans-Pennine upgrade. This role is offering 37.5 hours of work per week. The role also offers flexible/home working.
 
As a Highway Design Engineer, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, that will involve delivery of design services and technical supervision of colleagues, as well as potentially managing delivery of packages of design work.
 
 
The ideal candidate
 
·Accredited degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
·Must be proficient with Civil 3D
·Ideally a minimum of 5 years relevant experience and ability to multi-task
·Experience and in depth understanding of highway and engineering design, technical design standards ( eg DMRB, MCHW, TSRGD) and best practice
·Knowledge of engineering design, related legislation, contract procurement and contract administration
·Good project management skills and financial management
