Front Line Technical Support Engineer - Electrical

Location: Luton
Salary: £25,000
Additional: 31 days annual holiday, monthly sales bonus and yearly profit share bonus scheme, company pension, Life insurance, company discount scheme

We are pleased to offer an exciting new opportunity with our client who are a well-established distributor of electrical products. They supply wholesalers, major catalogue companies and other mainline distributors across the UK. As a result of continued investment they provide exceptional service and industry leading technical support on their growing range of products and customer solutions.

Due to company expansion and ambitious growth aspirations they are looking for individuals to join the business and help develop the firm towards this plan.

They are looking for a Front Line Technical Support Engineer to join the team and provide technical support via phone and e-mail to their customers. This will involve advising customers on product selection or alternatives, technical information and pricing. Full product training will be given for this role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Proactively develop and maintain a deep understanding of comapny products through formal training and continuous self-development
  • Providing timely, accurate and effective solutions to technical problems on all product lines for customers over primarily phone and email communication channels
  • Management of several different projects/tasks/activities simultaneously
  • Engage and build effective relationships with customers
  • Support development, strategy and actively contribute to engineering improvements
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate for this post

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified to BTEC or City & Guilds in an electrical engineering discipline or similar experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Technically adept
  • Resourceful and flexible
  • Have a passion for continuous learning
  • An active team player with the ability to work independently
  • Self-motivated, and able to work on own initiative
  • Competent in Microsoft Programmes (Outlook, Word, Excel)
