Job description
Job Title: Highways Duty Controller
Location: London, UK
Salary: £30,000-£35,000
My client are a lead company working on the management and maintenance of a significant contract dealing with one of the busiest roads within London.
They are looking for a Duty Controller with experience in a similar role to join the team in their London office. You will be based in both the control room and out on site when required, with shifts mixed between mornings, days and nights.
Key Responsibilities:
·Ensure safe and efficient traffic operations
·Monitor the CCTV systems of major Highways Tunnels
·Develop working knowledge of the tunnel SCADA system
·Detect and assess incidents and emergencies using up to date technologies ans software
·Record all information of relevant issues during each shift
·Liaise with emergency services and other key contacts when necessary
·Deliver clear and concise handover between shifts
·Issue Works Orders as necessary
·Communicate with Road Manager and other internal team members on all serious incidents
·Maintain key holding for all vehicles
·Update the vehicle allocation log
Requirements:
·Experience within a similar role preferred but not necessary as training is provided
·Controller room experience preferred but not essential
·Highways and tunnels experience preferred but not essential
·A desire to learn and develop within the role
·A willingness to do rota based shifts, including some night shifts
·Good communication and problem solving skills
Package:
·Salary between £30,000-£35,000 per annum
·25 days holiday
