Job Title: Development Management Officer (Planner) - 10 Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)
 
Indicative Salary: £34,000 - £40,000 (pro-rata) and 30 days annual leave entitlement (pro-rata)
 
 
Hours: 35 hours per week
 
We're in search of an experienced Development Management Officer to join our fast-paced team in one of London's key growth zones. This role provides an opportunity to become part of a dynamic and forward-thinking Development Management Team recognized for its top-tier performance nationwide. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a genuine interest in town planning, possess exceptional organizational skills, approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset, and excel in customer service.
 
Duties include:-
 
·Assisting in all aspects of Development Management and Spatial Planning tasks.
·Conducting thorough planning assessments based on spatial policy, taking into consideration the Local Plan, Regional Plans, and the NPPF.
·Drafting Committee reports, briefing notes, evidence, discussion papers, etc., related to Development Management and Spatial Planning issues.
·Preparing and presenting evidence for planning appeals, compulsory purchase orders, and spatial planning matters.
·Collaborating with various public and private entities to offer planning input for projects aimed at land redevelopment or enhancement within the Borough.
·Handling conservation, listed building, ecological, and tree preservation matters, including processing applications for tree works.
·Offering technical and procedural guidance and resolving issues for the public in various settings, such as on-site, in meetings, over the phone, or through correspondence, even in confrontational situations requiring immediate responses.
