Deputy Team Leader - Planning
 
My Client in South London is seeking a Deputy Team Leader to join the Development Management Team.
 
You will have line management responsibility for a section of planning officers, provide guidance and support on all aspects of their working life and take decisions on a limited range of casework (utilising delegated powers). You will evaluate and make recommendations on planning and related applications including those of a complex and controversial nature. Also you will process appeals and participate in the delivery of service plan objectives and other service improvements. Recent experience within a London Borough would be desirable.

This post is initially for a 3 month period with the possibility of extending. With pay rates up to £45/h, Inside IR35.

You will be responsible for processing a small number of complex planning cases and line managing 3-4 Senior Planning Officers and Planning Officers - providing them with guidance and input on their caseload and performing formal line management tasks. You will be a key member of a hard working team looking to delivery high quality housing development.

RTPI accredited degree, good level of experience at an LPA. Some line management experience desirable.
